Hong Kong's Pink Walk for the Cure - October 2010

Sunday morning, October 2nd - 28 degrees, mainly blue skies (with some smog...), and a cool'ish breeze - a perfect day for the Walk for Breast Cancer awareness in Hong Kong. We got to the Victoria Peak at 9:45am, and joined about a thousand people - all dressed in shades of pink - for a 50 minute walk around the gorgeous Peak. About 12 CDNIS teachers and 40 students from our Interact club had a great time, and afterwards, brunch, of course at our favourite diner, The Flying Pan.
Sarah and Meg in their pink duds - a quick trip to Stanley Market the day before to grab something pink to wear :)
Bob and our Upper School Principal, John.
La famille Bate - great weather.
Victoria Peak is the highest 'lookout' in Hong Kong - normally, we're looking over the 'other side' a the city and Kowloon - today, it's all about the greenery, and the South China Sea
Lots of pomp and circumstance - with speeches and thankyous that lasted about an hour, then a quick 'dance', and then they ran down the steps, past the 'guards', and into the walk. Bob was fed up with it all, and led us all ahead of the crowds and into the beautiful scenery.
Lots of banyan trees and flowering shrubs - it really was a beautiful morning walk

And waterfalls!

View from the pathway towards Kowloon side. Smoggier around this corner,
Friends from school joined us along the way, and then for brunch.

:)
