KSS GRAD 2010
KSS GRAD - we were excited to be a part of the QB grad experience this year - Sarah, Meg and I grabbed a seat in the back of the packed gym, and cheered on Sarah's friends as they entered the auditorium, with burgundy and white gowns and caps on. All 176 grads had a seat, and the speeches began. Rollie, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Bill Preston, on behalf of the Board, and then Jesse for KSS. It was a wonderful afternoon (3:30-6:30pm), and it was so great to see all of Sarah's lifelong friends have their moment - many of them awarded fantastic scholarships. Afterwards, we went outside the front of the school, and Sarah was reunited with her groups of girlfriends.

Rollie's speech - baseball analogies about being yourself, and not compromising your values
As the grads came forward, Rollie gave them their certificates, and then they walked forward to have their pictures taken with Jesse. Butch and Anne did the student intros/bios and thanks - it was really touching
The place was packed!
Lots of familiar faces in the crowd...

After the hugs and pictures, many of the GRADs went to dinner or celebrations with family. Sarah ended up at the post-GRAD party with friends. As she said "closure" was the theme of the day.
Birthday Bash Summer 2010
We all gathered in Mill Bay to celebrate the 75th and 80th birthdays - what fun! Dave was there from PG, and he and the grandbabies blew up balloons, ran streamers around the deck, and we all had a wonderful afternoon. Granny Smith was there too, and we all had a blast trying out Penny and Ken's chocolate fountain - wow, can you say 'sweet'! Penny had made a beautiful quilt for Sarah - very special, and she was very touched. After lunch, we walked down Partridge then Handy Road to the beach, and picked up some shells to bring back and paint for Nan's garden. Wonderful afternoon,
