Last night in HK - dinner at the flat
Jen and Jude to Aberdeen via ferry, and then on to Stanley Market for a pub lunch!
Dinner at the Football Club with Kaye and Des, Tracey and Pete (with baby Lucy) - it was Australia day - too fun!
Had a wonderful visit with Mike and Judy this week - Mike was here on business, and Judy joined him in Bangkok and then flew to HK. Lots of great dinners, they met a few of our friends here, and we got tons of news of our loved ones at home, and local QB gossip. They had a tour of our flat (took about 2.2 minutes!), a walkabout in Aberdeen village, double decker bus to Stanley Market and a pub lunch, Peking Duck for Mike, and furs and vodka shooters at the Russian Bar! Judy made a great spaghetti sauce, and we had a nice relaxing dinner at our place on their last night here. After a tour of our school today, we said goodbye - it was so great to see them!

Jimmy Buffet concert!
And there he was! Jimmy Buffet and his band, having flown from Mexico the day before, and no sleep! Guitars and kettle drums - Bob and I went back in time - so cool! Thanks to our Ozzie friends, who organized all 12 of us to go to their football club, where JB donated his time, concert and paid for the tequila, so all proceeds went to a literacy group here in Hong Kong!
Bob, our Ozzie friend Des and I, and the rest of the gang, off to the Lang Kwai Fung (wrong spelling, I'm sure!) to hit the clubs after the concert.
Dave and Shelley McMaster
Bob and the OZs
OK - seriously the funnest thing we've done in a long time! Our friends Michel and Rebecca (Quebecers) whooping it up! Dinner, 2 free margaritas and a concert!
My Ozzie friend Kaye had 12 shirts made up for us, plus leis, and rubber shark noses - our table won a prize for best spirit, and we had a ball! Jen with Rebecca and Shelley McMaster
It's a wonder they let us out...
We were in the front row (mosh pit, as Sarah calls it), and there he was, barefoot, and rockin'. We sang every song at the top of our lungs - it was SO cool, Bob and I couldn't believe we were there!
As he said, I can't believe I'm still rockin at 61 years'. He ended up the concert with Margaritaville!

Bob and Mike Weir's Excellent Adventure
In November, Mission Hills hosted the World Cup of Golf. Mission Hills is the largest golf course in the world- 14 golf courses at last count. The owner of the facility hosted Dave and I on the Saturday of the competition. Dave and I were the "official observers" for the Canadian team. Bottom line, we walked with Mike and Wes for the 18 holes- down the fairways, on the greens, on the tee boxes- Pretty amazing.

Christmas in the Tropics 2007
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We had an incredible trip over the holidays - Christmas Eve in Macau, staying at a hotel owned by a CDNIS student's family - they hosted us SO well, including limo tours around the island, and dinner at a fabulous Macanese restaurant! We arrived in Singapore late on Christmas Eve, and immediately fell in love with the city/country. Friendly people (cabbies who loved to speak about their wonderful country!), and great weather (stayed between 28 and 32 degrees the whole time), and fantastic sites. Favorite memories include the Night Safari at the Singapore Zoo, Extreme Swinging at Clarke Quay (meg's #1 wish), Amusement Park on Sentosa Island, Singapore Slings at the grand Raffles Hotel, and shopping along the Orchard Road. Another wonderful trip! Enjoy the pictures, and happy new year to our loved ones back home!
